Completed: 2010

We had been asked to modernise a Parnell apartment with sweeping views over Hobson bay and the gulf.

What had been a five bedroom home was reduced to a generous three bedroom home with an expanded living space, after the children had left home. A second upper living area was created to take advantage of the city views to the west but mainly to capture the afternoon light and allow this to flood the main living room. White marble floor allows the light to be reflected deep into the living room, while basalt tiling and wenge veneers helped balance and absorb excess light.

Within six months of completion, all three children had returned home.
